🎯 Meta is removing some detailed targeting options for ad campaigns this week - ones that aren't used much or are perceived as sensitive.

😆 Instagram is testing out an option for you to share a Story with a friend. They can then share it to their own Story.

⚠️ Instagram is implementing new restrictions and protections for its younger users.

🎥 X is looking at monetizing video content - gating some videos for Premium subscribers.

📺 More people will now be able to watch TikTok content on their TV with TikTok's new Chromecast support.

On that note, let’s move on to Mean Girls…

No, we haven’t been transported back to 2004, but Mean Girls was everywhere last fall. They recently reunited (without Regina 👀) for a Walmart Christmas ad too, but let’s talk about the Paramount campaign.

👚 The Mean Girls/Paramount campaign

On October 3rd (or Mean Girls Day!), Paramount released Mean Girls on its TikTok account for one day only.

The movie was posted across 23 videos meaning viewers had to scroll through the videos on Paramount's profile to view the whole movie.

The results 👇

👉 66,000 new followers

👉 1m+ likes

👉 5.3m views

It was a great way to drive engagement and get the movie in front of a new audience - Gen Z!

Next - how to collect honest client feedback.

Because if Regina didn't give Gretchen some hard truths, she would still be trying to make fetch happen 😉

📝 How and where to collect client feedback

Collecting feedback is a must for your agency.

It helps to:

➡️ Strengthen client relationships
➡️ Improve your marketing strategies
➡️ Identify areas for growth

First you've got to prepare by:

➡️ Setting clear expectations for the feedback process
➡️ Timing your request right (not during clients' busy periods!)
➡️ Identifying key questions

To find out what's going well, and what could be improved, try these methods:

📝 Online surveys

Online customer feedback tools, or even a simple Google Form can help you collect valuable data.

It's a cheap, effective and non-intrusive way of picking your clients' brains!

📧 Email communication

You could ask your clients a bunch of questions via email.

This is a great way to personalize your feedback/data gathering and spark up a convo!

📞 Phone calls

Remember those? 😉

While the thought may send shivers down every millennial and Gen Z's spine, they can be EXTREMELY useful.

A quick informal chat on the phone can help solve any issues there and then and can often lead to more in-depth insights.

Totally worth it!

Finally, analyze and implement the feedback by:

➡️ Identifying common themes
➡️ Prioritizing actionable insights
➡️ Communicating changes to your clients

Plus, listening works. Take a leaf out of Olaplex’s book 👇

👀 The Olaplex “dupe” campaign

Glamour UK

A GENIUS marketing strategy by Olaplex!

People are tightening their belts and looking for cheaper alternatives to big brands.

'Dupe' culture has been big on TikTok recently, with hair brand Olaplex being one of the most duped product so far.

So the brand implemented a marketing strategy to combat this…

By creating a repackaged product, the 'Oladupe'

Here's what they did:

➡️ Created a false product (well, a repackaged version of their existing product), the 'Oladupe'

➡️ Ran an unboxing campaign with over 100 earned and paid influencers

➡️ Used the hashtag #Olaplexdupe, which has achieved over 30m views

➡️ Posted videos explaining the quality of their product

LOVED this!

That’s all for now! We’ll see you next week to discuss:
