How to delegate effectively + more 🌱
Hey! Here’s another edition of Growth By Social! Today we’re talking:
📱 This week’s social media news
❤️ My favorite social posts of the week
👶 Running a business as a mom
💯 Why delegation is an important skill to master
💡 Top tips to delegate effectively
📜 The 70% rule of delegation
First up…
🎥 YouTube Shorts is averaging at 70 billion daily views - super interesting as TikTok is transitioning to longer-form video… Seems a bit like Freaky Friday, huh?
😍 Instagram is testing a way to preview your feed before you post - fantastic for those who are all about the aesthetic.
🤖 Facebook is testing out a new generative AI tool that will prompt better post captions.
📱 Advertisers on X can now use vertical video - the platform says that over 100 million users watch vertical videos on the app.
💼 LinkedIn has removed ‘creator mode’
I mean, it’s good to have dreams, right? 😂

Things we love to see… 🥰
Polite on the outside, absolutely seeeething on the inside… 😆
👶 Running a business as a mom
You can't run a successful business and be a mom.
Wrong 🙅♀️
If I had a dollar…
Anyway, in my experience you need two things (+ a really strong morning coffee ☕)
Delegation and trust.
👉 Your team can do the work you do - support their professional development and they can take your place in some areas (and can I say this is up there with the top best feelings as a founder!)
👉 Your business doesn't need you around 24/7 - relax, trust your team to do the job well. They're good at what they do!
Keep listening 👇
💯 Why delegation is an important skill to master
Because to scale, you can't continue doing everything (as much as we want to sometimes!)
Delegation helps to:
👉 Focus on core areas of your business
👉 Manage your time more effectively
👉 Build a better work/life balance
👉 Upskill and develop your team
👉 Avoid burnout
💡 Top tips to delegate effectively
Follow these 6 steps to delegate effectively:
1️⃣ Identify the tasks that can be taken off your hands
2️⃣ Choose the right people/agency (or AI 😉) for the job
3️⃣ Set clear and defined goals for the delegated tasks
4️⃣ Encourage autonomy - the right people will be able to do the job well with little input
5️⃣ Set realistic deadlines
6️⃣ Provide regular and constructive feedback
It may take time to have the guts to take a step back from certain tasks but it's 100% worth it in the long run.
And here’s a rule that I recently learned:
📜 The 70% rule of delegation
I love the idea of the 70% rule for delegation. Here's why 👇
So the 70% rule for delegation is that you should delegate tasks (or responsibilities) to someone if they can perform at a competence level of around 70% of your own capabilities.
Why not 100%?
You don't need to wait until someone's at full proficiency.
Because the other 30% leaves room for the person to grow and develop.
Sometimes the best way to learn is to dig in and get hands-on, right?
This is your sign to give the 70%ers a chance to learn! 🙌
That’s a wrap for this week!
