Let’s take a look at some news…

Your social media news roundup 📱⤵️

🐝 You’ll be able to change playback speed with YouTube’s latest update, as well as browse better in landscape mode, explore more content while in the updated Miniplayer (the feature that allows you to continue watching videos while you browse the platform) and set sleep timers in case YouTube is your chosen white noise!

Meta’s giving more options to brands when they set up their ads, allowing you to control if people can comment on the ad once it goes live. It’s also now supporting third-party block lists – great for brand partnerships outside of Meta.

🛍️ TikTok is partnering with InMarket – a location data company – to essentially measure physical in-store visits that follow from users seeing the brand’s ad on TikTok via very specific conversion reporting.

🔑 Reddit is now making it easier for advertisers to target relevant content and users with improved keyword targeting with the help of AI recommendations and increased location targeting.

💬 WhatsApp has rolled out a new update that allows private mentions and a new ‘like’ function for status updates, which doesn’t come with a tally, so no popularity contests!

It can be a pain 😆

“Easy” 🥲

Do NOT ask me to be on a company TikTok 😆

🌳 WWF and Parkrun are handing out prescriptions now

Of course they’re not handing out real prescriptions, but in WWF’s latest partnership with Parkrun they’re keen to get people to use the natural remedy of ‘outdoors’.

Hoping to encourage more and more people to get out into nature and the joy that running can bring, the two brand’s campaign provides fun imagery with subtly poignant messages (or doctor’s notes) attached.

The imagery was created with WWF and Uncommon Creative Studio, while Parkrun also partnered with Meanwhile to produce a 90-second ad where a doctor physically prescribes a parkrun in a forest setup 🏕️

A great initiative and perfectly simple but effective execution!

🐾 Croctober is finally here

This year Crocs has decided that their Croctober campaign will hone in on the current pet goods buying trend as they release a range of pet Crocs 🥹

And it’s not just a PR stunt per se, the brand is avoiding disappointment by making the range available to buy online and select stores – although for a limited time only.

But of course, it is the season of all things spooky so this range will be glow-in-the-dark! A smart move doubling up as seasonal marketing and pet safety for when your four-legged friends are on twilight walks.

You’ll not be disappointed to find that owners can buy a matching pair too!
